Biography
Dr. Devon J. Shedlock is an immunologist/virologist who received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2003 investigating the role of CD4+ T cell help in the generation of immunity. Afterwards, he worked at the NIH Vaccine Research Center studying the mechanisms of antibody-mediated neutralization of Ebola virus. Currently, he is a Senior Research Investigator in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at UPenn and his research focuses on the development and evaluation of novel DNA vaccine strategies, optimization techniques, and advanced delivery methods for prophylactic and therapeutic immunization. He is a member of the Penn Institute for Immunology and has authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles, reviews, commentaries, and book chapters. He has also delivered lectures as an invited speaker at several national and international meetings, medical schools, and Continuing Medical Education programs.
Research Interest
He has extensive experience in flow cytometry, molecular biology, and in the rodent and nonhuman primate models of infection and vaccination.
