Germany including sixteen constituent states, covering an area of 357,021 square kilometres with a temperate seasonal climate. Its capital and largest city is Berlin. The most populous member state of European Union is Germany. Germany is a great power and has the world's fourth-largest economy by nominal GDP, as well as the fifth-largest by PPP. As a global leader in several industrial and technological sectors, it is both the world's third-largest exporter and importer of goods.
2)Geography of the country:
Germany covering the Western and Central Europe, with Denmark bordering to the north, Poland and the Czech Republic to the east, Austria to the southeast, Switzerland to the south-southwest, France, Luxembourg and Belgium lie to the west, and the Netherlands to the northwest. Most of Germany has a temperate seasonal climate dominated by humid westerly winds. The climate is moderated by the North Atlantic Drift, the northern extension of the Gulf Stream.
3)Status of economy, research and development:
Germany is the largest national economy in Europe, the fourth-largest by nominal GDP in the world, and fifth by GDP. The service sector contributes around 70% of the total GDP, industry 29.1%, and agriculture 0.9%. Exports account for 41% of national output. Germany is rich in timber, iron ore, potash, salt, uranium, nickel, copper and natural gas. Energy in Germany is sourced predominantly by fossil fuels followed by nuclear power second, then gas, wind, biomass (wood and biofuels), hydro and solar. German MNCs increasingly invest in international R&D for resource as opposed to market-seeking motives. In Germany, as well as research and development centers run by industrial corporations.
4)Status about the different subjects in which extensive research is going on:
The first pathological institute of Germany was founded in (1821-1902) by Rudolf Virchow. German pathologists, reflect too little about themselves and their niche in medicine as a whole. In Germany and the USA, pathology is a central subject in the medical course studies. Pathology is going to be even more important in the future. Pathology is fundamental to the understanding of diseases in humans in Western Medicine. The facts taught are, of course, the same everywhere. There are differences as far as the teaching methods are concerned, both between the different countries and within Germany. The latest trend and ongoing studies related to Pathology Journal in Germany emphasize mainly on Predictive Pathology - Guiding and Monitoring Therapy’. The Institute for Pathology in Cologne epitomizes this motto. His Institute is responsible for a busy routine Anatomical Pathology Service with about 40,000 surgical specimens and 20,000 consultations each year, and a post mortem service that has 150 post-mortems annually. The main focus is on the tumor gene mutation in order to produce ‘personalised’ therapy for patients with these tumours. Journal of International Pathology is publishing articles related to these ongoing studies.
